The Air Jordan 1 sneaker was released in 1985, the year when Michael Jordan was ending his first NBA season with Chicago Bulls, the team that drafted him a year before. The sneaker was designed by Peter Moore and it was inspired from previous basketball shoes at the time, with clean lines and a new designed logo next to the classic swoosh. The price tag was only $65, one that was meant to start its legacy and introduce it to the market. The time when Air Jordan 1 really came into the spotlight was when Michael was fined $5000 by the NBA for violating its uniform code when wearing the black and red version. Nike picked up the tab and the rest is history. This sneaker was the start of the legendary Jordan shoe line that was retroed for the first time only nine years later, with numerous new colorways released over time.
The Air Jordan 1 is made of genuine leather upper, EVA midsole and rubber outsole. While the comfort level may not be up to the one of the more modern styles, it is instead a very durable shoe. Its design is unique due to the presence on the shoes of both the swoosh and the OG Air Jordan logo.
