Puma Carson runner is the brand's response to the market's demand of lightweight, minimalistic athletic shoes that adidas and Nike have been so successful with. As we tried a pair of these this week we not only say that these are in the same class with the ZX Flux, Loop Runner or the Roshe Run but they are giving these some serious competition. Puma's under-rated status should not fool anyone in this case. The Puma Carson Runner has a seam-less upper with a mesh that makes this sneaker easy to fit, flexible and breathable. On the lower of inside in the forefront there is an extra lining that helps keeping the foot in place while not taking anything from its flexibility. This is a feature that most of the other styles in this category don't have. There is also a heel cage that is not visible on the outside but it's a big part of the construction of this shoe, offering optimal stability. Puma Formstrip and logo on the heel and tongue add the branding details that blend in great with the blue and grey colorways.
Puma Carson runner features a simple, flexible rubber sole with EVA midsole. Despite their minimalistic look, these are made to last. Overall, these sneakers are great for every day use and they are a viable alternative to the much more popular styles mentioned above. As with those, the seamless upper makes them easy to be customized , which makes us think that the brand will be coming up with new graphic editions or the Puma Carson runner soon.
