The Air Jordan IV was first released in 1989 and it was designed by Tinker Hatfield. Its original retail price was $110. This version carried over several elements from the Air Jordan III such as the visible Air unit in the sole and the overall silhouette. For the first time a premium molded mesh was added to increase breathability and thus making it more performant. Also, it was the first time when the word “Flight” appeared under the Jumpman logo on the tongue. The Air Jordan IV was first retroed in 1999 and it flew off the shelves immediately. This is one of the most successful editions of the Air Jordan series, must have for any collector. Some of the most sought for versions of the Air Jordan IV are the white/cement, black/cement, Fire Red and the one made in collaboration with  UNDFTD. Several premium versions have been released in the recent years.
