This week we will take a look and review the features of the Reebok Zig Dynamica 4, since we got a pair in gray and black on sale. The Zig sneakers have been a staple of Reebok’s new direction for several years now, being the main feature of the new models of the brand. Among its many shapes the Dynamica has evolved into one of the most popular models, being a more budget friendly version of the Kinetica series. Its 4th iteration was introduced in 2023 and it features a clean, modern design that is also eco conscious, with at least 30% of the materials used being recycled. The pair we came across was the gray and black version with a white speckled midsole, one that we got a great deal on at $60, down from its $85 retail price.

First Impressions

Out of the box the Zig Dynamica 4 feels like a very solid shoe, despite its mesh upper construction. It is not very flexible if you want to twist it and it carries some weight, with size 12 at over 16oz. Materials look a bit cheap, which is not surprising given its price point. The shoes feel very comfortable as you put them on, without much breaking in need. However, it seemed that the more I wore them the more comfortable they became.

How Do They Fit?

They fit true to size, with a roomy toe box, even if it narrows towards the front. Those with slightly wide feet may even get away with getting the regular size. If you are not sure of your size for Reebok you can always check out the brand size chart here.

Upper

The upper is made of a seamless mesh material with synthetic overlays. This setup provides a decent air flow but you can wear them on a colder day too, like I did for this Reebok Zig Dynamica 4 review in Chicago. The lacing system is pretty standard and provides a good lockdown while the heel collar and tongue are lightly padded for a plushy feeling when you put them on. They also feature a hidden, standard heel counter that does a good job in keeping the foot in place.

Sole Unit

The sole unit of the Reebok Zig Dynamica 4 features the brand’s “Fuel foam” in the zig zag shape which aims to provide a “snappy, energetic ride”. The shape, aside of its cool looks was made so it will provide a good balance, support and cushioning. On the upper part it acts like a partial cupsole to create a stable footbed for the wearer. The middle part makes so there is extra room for the foam to expand with every step for optimal cushioning. From my experience I did not feel much spring in my steps which is not surprising given the type of EVA used and the shape of the midsole which is more vertical than the Kinetica models which lean a bit forward. What you feel with these, however, is excellent balance and stability. Finally, the rubber, sticky outsole is pretty flat , with a wavy design that provides good traction for city streets.

Are Reebok Dynamica 4 good for walking?

The Reebok Dynamica 4 is a good shoe for short walks. They provide excellent stability and comfort so they are great for everyday activities but I cannot recommend them for long walks given that they do not provide much energy return.

Are Reebok Dynamica 4 good for running?

I found the Reebok Dynamica 4 to be quite chucky and heavy so they may work for some when going for slow paced or short runs. You can take them in the gym for weightlifting, they provide good balance and support for such activities.

Bottom Line

Overall, this model is a good option for an every day budget athletic sneaker. For this Reebok Zig Dynamica 4 review I took them out on some errands and felt very comfortable. They have a bold design that works even better with some of the more colorful versions, so if you’re into its looks they will surely make you stand out. If you look for a pair that will provide all day support and comfort, one that can be your “beater”shoe, the Dynamica 4 is certainly a good option.
