This week we take a look and review the Adidas Daily 3.0, one of the latest models in 2023 from the German manufacturer. The Daily series has been all about comfortable, budget friendly, durable sneakers from the beginning. It is part of the same tier of retro inspired sneakers under $70 from Adidas like the Grand Court or the Lite Racer. All of these follow the same recipe as other brands follow where they use basic materials to come up with stylish, yet affordable versatile shoes. The adidas Daily in particular is a skate shoe inspired shoe that – much like its name implies- can be worn as an all around sneaker.
How They Fit
Recently adidas released a version of these in brown and white which I think is one of best this year. Out of the box the shoes feel very solid and a bit heavy, mostly due to the vulcanized outsole. Size 12 weighs almost 15oz which makes sense when you think that they are at heart skate shoes. They fit true to size but they tend to run a bit narrow and they will not give in space easily in the toe box area. So for folks with wide feet a half size up is the way to go. They are comfortable as you put them on but as you start walking in them it’s clear that they will need some time to break them in.
Upper
The upper of the adidas Daily 3.0 is made of a mesh material that feels very sturdy, almost like a hemp material. This shoe reminds me of the Adidas Seeley , another skate shoe. The two share a lot in common actually, with the latter being a bit more lightweight. One of the things we have noticed while doing this adidas Daily 3.0 review is that the mesh is quite breathable, despite its rough looks. They feature an old skool elongated lacing system with hiker inspired laces which do great in securing the feet in place. The heel area and the tongue have a nice padding for comfort, not too much like you see at retro skate shoes like Osiris or DC Shoes. This makes them excellent for everyday use without getting the feet too hot.
Sole Unit
The sole unit of the adidas Daily looks like a vulcanized sole like you see at Vans or Converse shoes usually. It even has some overlays in front and back which adds some nice looks but surely some weight. There is no heel drop on these, they are flat as skate shoes need to be. They feature Ortholite inserts for added cushion but the midsole is hard core rubber with some chambers for some shock absorption. The sole provide decent arch support throughout the day, and if you carry some weight these will not let you down. Overall the sole is all about durability, however and these shoes are clearly built to last for a while.
Bottom Line
To conclude our Adidas Daily 3.0 review, this is a stylish, comfortable ,solid shoe that offers an excellent value, being one of the best cheap skate shoes out there. At just $65 a pair you get a shoe that you can wear anywhere casually and even hop on the skateboard if you feel like it. Running in these or taking them to the gym is a no no but they still feel like a very versatile shoe. If still in doubt, or if you’re looking for a high top skate shoe the DC Cure Hi Top is a good option to consider.
