This month we salute the comeback of the classic adidas Gazelle in its OG form and new colors, a nice addition to the 2016 lineup of the Originals line. This edition is a re-issue of the 1991 collection, released in various colors to honor the original. Back in 1968 when the adidas Gazelle was introduced for the first time, it was the main choice of athletes on and off training. As with many of adidas other styles of that time, this shoe has become a lifestyle sneaker quickly after many influential artists made it part of their attire. This style has been released over and over throughout the years, with versions that aimed to conserve the original look.
The upper of the adidas Gazelle OG in 2016 features pigskin material that gives it the vintage look, combined with white synthetic leather stripes and heel tab. The midsole is also white, in contrast with most of the seven colors available for the upper part. All pairs have the "Gazelle" text engraved by the side stripes in metallic gold. Once again Adidas has focused to create the adidas Gazelle in 2016 as close as possible with the original version, trying to keep alive what made this sneaker such an icon. We can safely say that they achieved their goal.
