Nike Sock Dart is a minimalistic running shoe that was first released back in 2004. It was one of the first sneakers to feature a knitted upper, being in many ways ahead of its time with its sock like fit. The shoe also features a unique system upper that replaces the traditional lacing system by using a strap with multiple dots, making it easy adjustable to the wearer’s foot. The Nike Sock Dart has been a rare appearance over the year but in 2015 Nike‘s designer Hiroshi Fujiwara has brought it back in the spotlight as part of the fragment design. Several versions and colorways have been released since then, with Complex magazine naming it “The Sneaker of the Year” in 2015. With its sock like construction and minimalistic look, the Nike Sock Dart is a great match for the market’s demands these days, an amazing thing if we consider it’s a over 12 years old design.
